Look around, enjoy, touch and breath the air the Quechua culture breathed, every corner in this historic city will offer a new view worth every photograph.
If you choose to venture into Cusco today, do so slowly, Cuscu sits at 11,152 ft of altitude, your body might feel the difference and your lungs will need a few hours to acclimatize, we reccomend:
Take it easy - Give your body time to adjust to the lower air pressure and decreased oxygen levels.
Stay hydrated - Altitude can lead to faster dehydration, so drink lots of water.
Eat a balanced diet - Choose carbohydrate-rich meals such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes.
Get enough rest - Get enough sleep each night, and take short naps during the day if you feel fatigued.
Avoid alcohol and tobacco - Alcohol has an equivalent effect of about three drinks at the altitude of Cusco, and depressants can worsen altitude sickness symptoms.
Try coca tea - Coca leaves are full of Vitamin B, Vitamin C, and iron, and can help alleviate headaches and altitude sickness.

Qorikancha, the Inca's sacred "Golden Temple," was once covered in gold and dedicated to the Sun God. Its masterful stonework still stands beneath the Santo Domingo Church, showcasing Incan engineering and spirituality.
Tambomachay, known as the "Baths of the Inca," is an ancient site featuring intricate stone channels and waterfalls, believed to have been a sacred water temple for purification rituals.
Puka Pukara, meaning "Red Fortress," is an ancient Incan military outpost with impressive stone walls and terraces, likely used for defense and as a resting place for travelers.
Qenqo is a fascinating Incan ceremonial site featuring carved rock formations, underground chambers, and a labyrinth-like design, believed to have been used for rituals and astronomical purposes.
A guided tour of Tana's historic Haut-Ville incorporates visits to palaces, churches and other sites associated with the defunct Imerina royalty.

Right before we begin our last van hike up to rainbow mountain, we will stop at one of our partner restaurants to feed your energy!
Arriving at the base of Rainbow Mountain, you’ll be greeted by crisp mountain air, breathtaking Andean landscapes, and a sense of adventure. Surrounded by towering peaks and grazing alpacas, the trailhead marks the start of a challenging but rewarding hike, leading you to one of Peru’s most stunning natural wonders.

Today will be a fun and challenging journey. We will be climbing to very high altitudes and water is key in this experience.
If you brought hiking poles, bring them! But your guides will have a rudimentary wooden stick if you need one.
